Paradise on the Pacific coastline – Puerto Escondido, Mexico

Everyone, both regional as well as foreign, told us that when we’re in Mexico, we should see the specify of Oaxaca. understood for its amazing cuisine, lovely beaches, colonial cities as well as native culture, we agreed that this would be our type of place, as well as chose to take a flight from Mexico City to the west-coast paradise of Puerto Escondido.

The pilot put on a show, tipping his wings from delegated right, enabling us to see the ocean, a extremely long stretch of sand as well as brown trees with our small airplane windows.

Except for the large body of water, whatever down below was so parched! The trees, foliage as well as turf were quite much all dead, as well as appeared like they would stimulate at any type of minute. This was certainly the dry season, as well as it only reminded us of exactly how much we choose to travel in the off-season, when the hills as well as plants are dynamic as well as full of life.

Consider flying to Puerto Escondido, it can be less expensive than the bus!

As we exited the airport, we were provided two options: pay 50 pesos each for a shared taxi, or 150 pesos for a personal one. Neither of which we believed was a great deal. So, we hoofed it out to the primary road, sweating in the hot sun, up until we reached the turn off to the airport. We were greeted by a long line of cabs just waiting to take us into town, for the much more sensible cost of 20 pesos each.

We were given a warm welcome upon our arrival at Hostal Losadeli. before us was a fantastic lady waiting to inspect us in, a smiling guy to take our bags, as well as a glistening pool beckoning for us to jump in as well as great off.

The hostel is found outside of the primary town of Zicatela. The waves there have been dubbed “the Mexican Pipeline”, as well as with swells reaching 16 m high during the summer, it’s no question this is a world-renowned destination for surfing competitions.

Hostal Losodeli is amazing!
Zicatela town is hectic as well as full of various lodging options, bars, restaurants as well as shops. We were much more thinking about chilling out as well as having a unwinding beach holiday, so we chose the area near the three beaches northwest of Zicatela which are risk-free for swimming: Playa Manzanillo, Puerto Angelito as well as Playa Carrizalillo.

The sunsets on the pacific coastline are magical, as well as having not seen one because San Pancho, we were determined to head down to the beach for a late afternoon swim as well as sunset. After a steep descent of 157 cement steps, we shown up at a secluded cove with about 6 bit palapa bars serving up easy food as well as beers. barely anybody was on the beach as well as the royal blue water was calm as well as welcoming.

There are various things to perform in Puerto Escondido, however I believe chilling out as well as viewing sunset was our favourite.

Ah, paradise
The gradient dropped instantaneously as we went into the water as well as we were only about three meters away from the shoreline, yet we couldn’t touch the bottom. The ground below us was soft as well as sandy as well as gazing back up at the persuading palm trees was a excellent reward after a long day of bussing, flying as well as taxing around Mexico. We sipped our beers, dug our feet into the sand as well as gazed out from our chairs at the sun hitting the water. Paradijs.
